This set of six Hollywood Regency dining chairs was designed by the Austrian-American designer Ernst Schwadron circa the 1940s. The dining chairs feature rectangular backs with keyhole vertical cut outs above the seat. The tapered fluted walnut legs of the chairs is a subtle and elegant detail. The chairs have been newly upholstered in a luxurious royal blue velvet that complements the glamorous design. These mid-century chairs are effortlessly chic and sophisticated making them a perfect addition to most interior design styles.
Ernst Schwadron came to NYC from Austria in the late 1930s. He worked as an architect and furniture designer. He was the chief furniture designer for Rena Rosenthal. He also worked for Knoll and then eventually opened his own shop at 757 Madison Ave circa 1951.
Newly upholstered and finished.
