This early Mid-Century Modern lounge armchair was manufactured by Thonet circa late 40s - early 50s. This chair design has been attributed to the noted American Modern designer Russel Wright. The chair features a minimal profile design made with a tiger maple wood frame known for exotic striations in the grain. The arms at 23" ht are nicely sculpted and flow seamlessly into the angled legs, this was amongst Russel Wright’s most iconic design choices. The frame has been refinished with newly upholstered body in a wonderful woven cream and beige geometric print that complements the dark tiger maple. This lounge chair is shown with another Thonet chair without a side rail present. That variation is listed for purchase separately here.
