This set of three handsome Mid-Century Modern armchairs were produced by the famous Austrian furniture company Thonet in the 1950s. Thonet which was founded in 1850 by Michael Thonet was the first to develop bentwood furniture and the revolutionary technology “steam bending”. These maple bentwood chairs are model number is 2216-SU10-BU6-B1. The chairs take on a whimsical human like form with their shapely frames and accentuated arms. The seats and backs are newly upholstered in sage green tweed blend with custom top stitched backrests. These armchairs are small but pack an abundance of iconic style within their footprint. They are wonderful dining or accent chairs.
