This Mid-Century walnut dresser credenza was designed by George Nelson circa 1954 as part of his Basic Cabinet Series (BCS) that was designed for and manufactured by Herman Miller. This credenza is model no. 4936. The dresser credenza features four spacious dovetailed drawers. The top drawer has dividers to create six individual spaces for organizing personal effects. The second and third drawers are equal in size to the top drawer at 5" ht. The bottom drawer is taller at 7" ht and is divided into three compartments. To the left of the drawers is a single cabinet door with adjustable shelves inside. Each storage compartment is adorned with a curved brushed metal J pull. This base of this credenza rests on four ebonized inset legs that works nicely with the warm walnut hue of the body. The foil maker's mark remains intact inside the top drawer.
This cabinet has been refinished.
