Robsjohn-Gibbings for the Widdicomb furniture company circa the 1950s. This walnut magazine rack table model no. 1646 features a sculptural x-shaped base for storing magazines and books with a floating top at 20.5" height making it a perfect reading table beside a cozy chair as shown in the Widdicomb catalog. With all of Gibbings signature details, this stylish and functional piece multi-tasks beautifully.
Robsjohn-Gibbings worked as a designer for the Widdicomb Furniture Co. from 1943 to 1956. Widdicomb was an American furniture manufacturer founded in 1858 by George Widdicomb in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
