This simple yet elegant rosewood extension dining table was designed by Kai Kristiansen for the fine furniture makers Skovmand and Andersen circa 1950s. This round dining table is a textbook example of Scandinavian mid-century design with its sleek clean lines and beautiful rosewood grain. The 2" thick edge banding of the table top rests on beautifully tapered legs. The table comes with two 21.75" leaves that extend the table up to 88" wide to accommodate 8-10 guests. All in all; a simple, timeless design which effortlessly combines comfort and functionality.
Kai Kristiansen throughout his career as a designer has been associated with the best-known furniture manufacturers. Since many of Kristiansen's designs were difficult to manufacture many of his designs are no longer in production making them highly sought after by collectors.
