This drafting table and chair set was designed by Dutch designers Wim Rietveld and Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel in 1963. This sturdy mid-century modern drafting set is a distinctive and timeless design. The table features a gray enameled steel frame with a marine plywood and white laminate top. It is adjustable in various heights and tilted by the two buttons signed with Ahrend Cirkel. It is 29" at it's lowest level height.
The matching chair is comprised of nicely grained, bent plywood seat and back with a lightweight but sturdy light grey sheet steel frame folded in such a way as to make it exceptionally strong for its weight (a design first at the time, subsequently patented by Rietveld and Kramer). The chair measures 21" w x 20" d x32" ht, seat ht 18.5, arm ht 27".
Good functional condition with age appropriate wear as shown.
