This highly collectible, three-piece Mid-Century Modern vignette is designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture circa 1948–1955. The set highlights Edward Wormley’s signature approach to mid-century modern design—blending traditional dignity with sculptural, modern restraint. The trio includes a matched pair of Model 5106 "Teardrop" lounge chairs and the highly coveted Model 4856 "Snack Table" floor lamp. This ensemble beautifully balances sculptural organic forms in a functional seating arrangement.
The Model 5106 "Teardrop" slipper chairs feature an elegantly tapered backrest that gently widens into a deep, curvilinear seat. The low-slung, armless profile offers an open and inviting lounge experience without disrupting sightlines. Supported by tapered brass legs, the chairs have been newly upholstered in a crisp ecru linen fabric.
The Model 4856 "Snack Table" Floor Lamp is a masterclass in space-saving elegance. The tapered walnut stem sits on a patinated brass tripod base with an integrated, round table showcasing a contrasting burl wood insert framed in a walnut trim. The lamp retains it's original pleated fabric shade and can accept two medium socket bulbs up to 75 watts each.
The chairs are newly upholstered. The floor lamp is in good working condition. The original shade shows some wear consistent with it's age.
