This Mid-Century Modern, ebonized walnut, "Switchblade" coffee table was designed by Andre Bus for Lane Furniture. The table was designed for Lane's "Acclaim" collection, a collection designed entirely by Andre Bus and launched in October 1958. This gorgeous coffee table features two levels, edged with a dovetail joint detail, that pivot 360 degrees; they can be folded under each other at 54" wide, make a V or L shape, or be fully extended at 80" wide. This versatile coffee table works in any space but works especially well with sectionals. Lane's advertisements used the phrase, "If your sofa turns the corner why shouldn't your coffee table?" According to Lane, "It should. It can. Lane makes tables that turns corners."
This table has been refinished.
