This sculptural lightweight gueridon / side table was designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDougal circa 1959 as part of their American Design Foundation group, for Calvin Furniture, Grand Rapids, MI. The maker's mark for Calvin Furniture Co. and this particular design group remains intact on the underside of the table top along with what is believed to be the model number 595. This elegant walnut table features long slender swag lags and a patinated leather inlaid top. The french word "gueridon" is used to describe a small moveable table primarily used for displaying a lamp, or book, or for serving food.
The table has been refinished. The leather top inlay shows it's original patina.
